The recent spell of rains and snowfall in district Mansehra, Kohistan and Battagram, the districts of the Hazara division, enters into fourth day on Sunday as the natural resort of the Naran and Kaghan had received over four-feet of snowfall so far. Meanwhile, the link of the Naran valley is still suspended through road with the rest of the country for last five days as the main Kaghan Road is blocked due to heavy snowfall and land sliding at different places between the Kaghan-Naran section of the road.

In district Battagram, the Battagram-Oghi Road is still blocked due to the land sliding at different places.

Due to the heavy rains, the life in the Hazara division has come to still stand, as no business activities are carried out in such environment.

People are facing the difficulties at home as the natural gas pressure has been dropped near to extinguish the natural gas-run appliances.

Long queues of vehicles are witnessed at the compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in the region as due to the heavy consumption of the natural gas the pressure of these stations has been dropped drastically.

Meanwhile, Heavy rain continued lashing the provincial metropolis and its adjoining areas from Friday evening till Sunday afternoon, slightly disrupting passenger schedule and making the weather chilly.

According to Met Office, 39 mm rain was received in Peshawar Valley and weather would remain hazy and cloudy, with chances of thunderstorm and more rain in the following 48 hours.

The rain started in early on Friday evening and continued intermittently till Sunday evening, and further chances of rain with thunderstorm have been forecast.

The sky remained covered with thick clouds throughout three days and weather became very chilly, forcing the people to remain indoors and wear additional warm clothing to combat the chilly weather.

According to Pakistan Railway, Awami Express from Karachi was late by two hours.

Similarly, Khushhal Khan Express was expected to be late by five hours from Karachi. Khyber Mail schedule was also disrupted which was late by three hours, PR officials said.

Most city streets were inundated with rain water, creating problems for pedestrians.

PIA flights remained undisrupted by the rain and all domestic and international flights were on schedule.

Mercury dropped from 19 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius, Met officials said.
